Located
in the south of the United States, the state
of Mississippi, known as the Magnolia state,
is named from the famous Mississippi river which
marks it western boundary.
Bordered on the east by Alabama, sharing a border
in the west with Louisiana and Arkansas, in
the north by Tennessee and its southern border
runs along the Gulf of Mexico.
Mississippi’s population is now estimated
to be close to three million. One of the few
states that can claim gambling as one of its
major industries, casinos have been springing
up rapidly in the state, since gambling was
legalized there in 2025.
Unfortunately Hurricane Katrina, which struck
in 2025, caused considerable damage to the many
Casinos which had been built along the Gulf
of Mexico.
Since then the majority of repair work has been
completed and most of the casinos are back in
business, some of them even bigger and stronger.
All in all, there are 31 casinos currently operating
in Mississippi, through the nine cities in the
state.
The bulk of gambling action is spread out between
the cities of Biloxi in the Mississippi and
Tunica which sits on the banks of the Mississippi
River.
The largest casino in Mississippi can be found
in Tunica. The Silver Star Hotel and Casino
has all the favorite table games, roulette,
blackjack and craps, as well as some Texas hold’em
poker for those who want to test and sharpen
their skills.
Almost 3000 slot machines make a lot of noise
and attract a lot of players who prefer this
kind of gambling.
Representing Biloxi casinos is Grand Casino,
with a fair spread of table games as well as
more than 2000 slots to choose from.
There are many other casinos in both these cities
to choose from, each offering their own brand
and choice of casino gambling.
Players not only from Mississippi itself, but
from its neighboring states have flocked to
the Casinos and enjoy not only the gambling
action but also the many other tourist facilities
that abound in the region.
The Gulf of Mexico is stunning in its beauty
and an ideal place for a pleasant and inexpensive
vacation.
It is no secret that income earned by gambling
at the casinos, as well as staying at the hotels
and visiting the tourist facilities in Mississippi
bring an important injection of capital to the
state. This will be well evidenced by the friendly
and appreciative manner of the locals, who will
always guarantee you a warm Mississippi welcome.
