One
roulette strategy is known as
the martingale system.
The martingale system was developed in the 18th
century in France as a simple betting system where
a player in a coin toss of heads and tails was
made to double his bet each time he loses, such
that when or if he eventually won, he would win
back all his losses from just that one win.
Of course a player’s chance of winning was
dependent on how much money he had to continue
playing since, statistically speaking, the player’s
bet would win at some point.
Since many players did not possess infinite wealth,
many of them ended up going brankrupt.
The system is basically the same today, only casinos
set maximum and minimum limits at roulette tables.
But the system works like this, a player makes
a bet and if a player loses his bet, he doubles
his next bet. But here’s what you should
know about the martingale system.
Suppose that a player decides to test the Martingale
betting strategy on an American roulette board
with the numbers 0 and 00. Bets on either red
or black will win eighteen times out of every
thirtyeight spins.
If the player’s starting bank is $160 and
the minimum betting unit is ten dollars, a player
will win in 96% of the spins, thus earning approx.
$4.30 per session.
However the player will lose his $160 in the remaining
4% of sessions. Thus this means that the player
using this strategy experiences approximate losses
per session of $2.27.
With a bigger bank the odds of winning increases
before the bank has time to be depleted fully
but the growth rate of the winnings versus the
losses is significantly slower thus making roulette
a non advantageous game. Play for fun!
The most important thing that is not taken into
account with this system is that players forget
that the casinos will never make circumstances
ideal for a player, and that is what this strategy
requires.
With this roulette strategy you bet the minimum
and in 7 or 8 hands you should reach the table
max.
You must place bets paying 1:1 to make use of
the famous Martingale system. Playing eithervred
or black is by far one of the more played bets
when applying this system.
(Undoubtedly roulette is also probably the best
game to highlight the flaws within the Martingale
system.)
But the fact remains that no betting system for
roulette can change the wider casino edge and
most definitely the Martingale strategy can turn
ugly for a player when things go awry.
More ROULETTE strategies
The Black/ Red System:
A roulette wheel ( any version ) has 2 colors,
18 red and 18 black. The house advantage arrives
from the 0 and 00.
This system advocates the following - Place a
bet on one color. If you pick right and win, leave
the amount you bet for the next spin but take
your winnings. You should always start at the
minimum amount say $10. Only increase your bets
if its affordable to you. If however you lose
then you should double your bet for the next spin.
If you lose again, accept it and start all over
again with the minimum betting. No advantage is
gained by switching colors, the probabillty never
changes with each spin of the wheel. This system
can be applied to any even money bets such as
even/odd and low/high bets. The
"Five Numbers" System:
This strategy involves straight bets on the 36
numbers plus the 0 and 00. So you have 38 numbers
to choose from. Let's say you start with a $40
bank roll. Pick any 5 numbers and bet $1 on each
them. You can do this 8 times before losing all
your monies if you dont win once. If however you
win once you will collect 35 chips. You should
then bet $7 on each of the 5 numbers. If you win
you get $245! Time to go to the pubs maybe? Smart
players know when to quit, do you? Or you could
hope to get lucky one more time and bet maybe
$20 on each of the 5 numbers for a payout if you
are lucky of $700. The Double
Down Strategy:
Has been known to work and is simple. Pick either
red or black and bet on whichever color you choose.
If you don't win in the first game, then double
your bet. Repeat this method until your color
hits. The problem with this strategy is that casinos
hate it when you bet roulette this way and may
ask you to leave the table or even the casino
altogether.|
The Single Most Important Strategy:
Remember when playing roulette is that it is a
game of chance, but vigilance and being wise about
playing bets can yield a profit. |
