Online Caribbean Stud Poker is another very popular game with online and land based pker players.

However the games differs slightly between countries. It is definitely a slightly different game in Europe and the United Kingdom than here in the USA.

It is called Casino Five Card Stud Poker in these countries and there is no prized Jackpot in most of their casinos. Those that do have a Jackpot refer to this game as casino stud poker.

Do note however that whilst the payouts may differ between the USA and the UK the rules are basically very similar.

Maximum bets can be $100 on ante and $200 on raise where the payouts take place. The highest hand is the Royal Flush which can have a payout as high as $10,000.00

You will find smaller casinos require the dealer to shuffle the cards whilst the bigger casino establishments who offer huge Jackpots use a card shuffling machine to shuffle before the dealer is allowed to distribute the cards. The chip dropper system is not used in the UK, they have their own unique system.

A game is on when the dealer shows Ace/King, if he does not show this players playing for the Jackpot must also show their cards, if they are not then they are not shown.

The important thing is that Caribbean Stud Poker is played not against other players but against the casino house.

The rules of this game are very similar to 5 card stud poker. And like all games played against the house, the house has an edge which ensures they will win in the long run. Great tactics like bluffing and aggresive play will not work in this version of poker.

USA Casino Rules:

Generally the same although may vary amongst casinos.

- Game starts with players putting up their ante.

- Dealer gives each player 5 cards facing down and turns up 1 of his own cards.

- Players look at their cards without showing or discussing with any of the other players.

- Players can then either fold and lose their ante or bet 2 times their ante.

- Dealer then shows his cards but is only allowed to play if he has higher than Ace/King or its equivalent.

- The best hand then wins between each player and the dealer.

- Dealer then pays Winners or takes the bets and ante of those who lost.

* A player can only play 1 hand at a time.

* To play for the Progressive Jackpot it is each player responsibility to ensure they put up their wager for it.

* No talking between players of what hands they have is allowed.

* Any Player receiving the wrong number of cards means his hand is dead and not bet is honored for him only.

* Table supervisor manages the game and his or her decision is final.

* If a dealer mistakenly gives himself only 4 cards he can deal himself another one to make it 5. Other types of misdeals means all hands are dead and the game is redealt.

* All players cards must be always kept in full sight of the dealer. When a player places his cards facing up on the table he is not allowed to touch those cards again.

* Any card revealed mistakenly before the dealer stops accepting new bets will voild all hands.

When a player wins he is paid on the ante 1:1. On his bet he is paid according to the hand he has up to a specified maximum.

A Royal Flush: 100-1

A Straight Flush: 50-1

4 of a Kind: 20-1

A Full House: 7-1

A Flush: 5-1

A Straight: 4-1

3 of a Kind: 3-1

2 Pairs: 2-1

1 Pair or Less: 1-1

Dealer not holding the minimum of Ace/King will mean all bets are void and all players will get 1:1 on the ante. If dealer wins he takes all bets from the players.

Players who played the Progressive Feature can win even if they lose their bets to the dealer. They will win if they have a flush or better according to the below schedule:

A Royal Flush: The FULL Jackpot!

A Straight Flush: 10% of Jackpot!

4 of a Kind: $500.00

A Full House: $100.00

A Flush: $50.00

Two or more players holding a Royal Flush will share the Jackpot equally.
